Ethical Food Buying Group

Suma’s first delivery in Dundee – Oct 2014

In September 2014 DUO launched a new ethical food buying group based at the Roseangle Arts Cafe. The aim of the group is to make healthy, ethical, and environmentally friendly food and household products available to individuals and groups at affordable prices.

By enabling access to more fairly traded and sustainable food DUO hope to minimise the need for supermarkets whilst boosting the use of local grocers and health food shops. (If you buy the bulk of your food from an environmentally and economically sustainable source it’s estimated that you’re more likely to top up your fruit, veg and household needs from a local shop rather than a supermarket.)

We use Suma, the workers cooperative and natural food wholesaler, as our monthly supplier.* They organise their deliveries on set routes to minimise their carbon footprint.
